Kirsten studied at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, where she obtained a Fine Arts degree in Jewellery Design.She then travelled to London where she worked and designed for leading fashion jewellery house Erickson Beamon, before breaking away and starting her eponymous label in London 2002. After opening her flagship store in 2005, she returned to South Africa to open 3 more stores in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.
