There are quite a few colour predictions for 2017 but what they have in common is that they’re all inspired by nature and, interestingly, New York Fashion Week. Here are six of the most striking colours for 2017 to bring into your wardrobe and home in the New Year.

    Kale

Kale has become a popular superfood in our kitchens, but now it’s also a great colour to splash onto your walls or to look for in a gorgeous pair of summer sandals. It’s been inspired by the idea of using outdoor elements in your interior design.

    Flame

It’s not really red but more of an orange-red that is set to brighten up your lifestyle in 2017. Add it in the form of decor, accessories or wear it on your lips for a daring display.

    Greenery

Think of the lush green trees that you see outside your window. That is the shade of greenery that is making 2017 feel so fresh and beautiful. It’s clear that green is a winning colour for the new year so it’s worth bringing into your life.

    Lapis Blue

This is a royal, electric shade of dark blue that looks classy yet super trendy. Bring on the lapis blue overcoats, purses and scatter cushions to give your wardrobe and home a trendy spin while still offering a sense of comfort. It works well within the decor trend of using darker colours to create an intriguing atmosphere in the home.

    Pale Dogwood

This pink is described by Pantone as being a peaceful shade that creates a sense of purity and innocence. It’s all about bringing a healthy glow to your surroundings and appearance, and works beautifully when used with kale or other green shades.

    Primrose Yellow

It’s acidic, it’s bright and it makes you think of sunshine and energy. This colour has been used on fashion runways by many fashion designers who especially liked to team it up with Island Paradise (aquamarine) and Hazelnut, creating an interesting palette that looks good enough to eat.
