This serving plate comes adorned with either a hippo or a rhino.

Xoologees are both functional and sculptural. The rhino can graze on your salad or the hippo can peak around a mud pie in your dessert platter.

Xoologee Ceramics are handmade in Cape Town in white stoneware clay.

Xoologee ceramics are designed by Cath Price, a Cape Town based ceramicist. Cath studied a Master of Fine Art degree majoring in sculpture at the University of Cape Town. The idea for Xoologee was born out of her love of animals and clay and she started making the range in 2010.

During their manufacture, Xoologees pass through the hands of 7 women and get fired twice to very high temperatures. The glaze is non-toxic and was developed in South Africa for culinary use.

All the products are handmade in Cape Town.
