[dropcap1]A[/dropcap1] mirror might seem like a decor accessory that can go pretty much anywhere, but the room in which you want to hang a mirror affects how it should be placed. Here are some tips so that your mirror reflects your stylish interiors in every room of your house.
In a small room: If your bedroom or lounge is cozy, you might think hanging a mirror will help to enlarge it, and you’re right. However, always hang the mirror high up on the wall at a bit of a downward tilt to enable it to reflect even more of the room.
In the bathroom: The standard place for hanging mirrors is above the basin, which is practical. Just make sure you give the mirror a beautiful frame to make it appealing. Another idea is to hang a mirror next to the bathtub to make it look larger.
In the living room / dining room: Use the mirror to reflect something striking in the room, such as a fireplace (simply rest the mirror on the mantelpiece), a work of art or beautiful chandelier.
In the bedroom: A full-length mirror on the cupboard door or door to the room is great for checking out your outfit before leaving, but you could be daring and place a mirror above your bed. Just make sure it’s fixed to the wall properly to avoid disasters! Another idea is to give the mirror a miss for mirrored furniture instead.
In the entryway: A beautiful mirror on the wall when you enter the house invites you inside and can form part of a cute little nook. Add tables or chairs to create a charming space.
In the kitchen: Do you really need a mirror in this room of the house? If so, place a mirror above the sink or on an accent wall to fill up the space. You don’t want mirrors to get in the way in this busy room, though, and remember: watermarks are not fun to have to clean every day, so avoid a mirrored backsplash.
In the hallway / on the staircase: These are perfect spots for a mirror to reflect light while increasing space. Let it work its magic!
