[dropcap1]T[/dropcap1]he short answer: no! White furniture can be a lively addition to your home. It also fits in with a variety of styles while making spaces seem larger. You just have to make sure you protect it from damage and dirt when you have kids running around the house. Here’s how.

    Drape Them

An easy idea for protecting your white sofa is to drape a blanket or throw over it. This ensures that when the kids are climbing on it, they won’t leave stains or rip it with their shoes. A throw can also add some colour to a plain white sofa, which can be great if you want to inject some brightness into the room.

    Clean It Up

White furniture can be high maintenance. It requires regular cleaning, such as vacuuming and using a lint roller on fabrics. This helps to remove any dirt or pet hair that can accumulate and make your white sofa or chairs look scruffy. Professional cleaning is also an option as it can remove deeper dirt or stains.

    Restore White Wood

It’s not just your white sofa that can get stained from kiddies’ dirty hands. Your white wooden furniture can also end up with nasty smudges. The key is to wipe your furniture regularly with a non-abrasive washcloth. Simply dampen it with water and wipe the smudges off with vertical strokes. Once the smudges are gone, you should wipe it dry with another cloth or paper towel to prevent mildew from forming.

    Invest In Colourful Cushions

An alternative to using a throw or blanket over your sofa is to bring some colourful cushions to the mix. These can protect some part of your white sofa, while looking good. As for white chairs, large cushions are great for creating a barrier between sticking fingers and beautiful pieces of furniture.
