Handcrafted by Maasai women living in Tanzania, Sidai Designs creates contemporary luxury beaded jewellery, based on traditional Maasai beading techniques and design.
Since 2014, designers Ezster Rabin, Rebecca Moore and Julia Benaim have collaborated with Massai women to produce handcrafted jewelry that preserves their ancestral craftsmanship and supplies them with steady income. Sidai – meaning good or beautiful in Maa, the language of the Massai – is a collection of accessories handmade of upcycled materials such as grain bags, canisters and recycled beads, and finished with supple leathers and sterling silver. Each design is an ode to traditional artistry that’s infused with contemporary appeal.
